Watch Me Grow
In the beginning
When I bought my first ever "technically nice camera", it was a Nikon D3500. I had talked to a specialist at Best Buy about the best route for me to take as a beginner in the world of photography. He suggested the "kit-camera" that came with 2 lenses, an 18-55m + 70-300mm, and it was just under $500!
Above are photos of where it all began.

I am so grateful for those who have allowed me to take their photos to practice along the way.
Keep in mind, in the beginning, I had no clue about "manual mode and manual focus". I shot with "auto" mode until I learned manual. I also didn't know anything about harsh lighting, posing couples + families where they wouldn't look awkward or uncomfortable, how to edit to make them look good and not too fuzzy or saturated.
Every time I shot, I always found things I wish I had done better and for my next client, it was my goal to achieve that.
I remember going through a stage of major growth. I was at the point where I wasn't satisfied with my work. I did tons of research from the best camera + lenses to which editing platform to use, how to use the "tone curve", presets, finding my niche, to how to simply pose the subject.
I wanted to be more creative. I wanted to express me through my work.
It was almost a 180 from my previous work all of a sudden. After much research on the camera I would need, I did shoot after shoot to try and learn this baby! I wanted to know my camera better than it knew itself.
Along the way, I have been able to grow with some of my clients. I have been privileged to capture a growing family- baby #1, maternity, baby #2, and then the family as a whole. I have been blessed to capture surprise engagements, weddings, newborns, milestone moments, and more.
I enjoy finding new local places to shoot as well as exploring outside of where we are all use to, just in case I have clients willing to travel.
I have grown to love portraiture. There is nothing like unique beauty.
There is so much more left for me to learn and I am more than willing to go on this journey. I will never be able to express enough how thankful I am for where I am today and it is even more exciting to me to know I can only be better than I am a year from today.
